I am a Haitian-American textile artist creating bold, hand-tufted portraits rooted in culture, identity, and self-expression.

I didn’t grow up thinking I’d be an artist. I was the one doing what I was supposed to do, nursing, structure, responsibility… all of that. Being the daughter of Haitian immigrants, there’s a certain way you move. You follow the path. You do it right.

But honestly… that never fully fit me.

Art became the one place where I could stop doing things the “right” way and just do things my way. No rules, no overthinking, no asking if it makes sense. Just creating.

Through tufting, I tapped into a side of myself that had been sitting quietly for a long time. The free-spirited, slightly rebellious, “let me try this and see what happens” side. And once that door opened, there was no going back.

I’m self-taught, but I didn’t just wing it. I watched videos, took workshops, practiced a lot, messed up a lot, and figured things out as I went. Tufting gun in hand, acrylic yarn everywhere, carving, shaping, fixing, reworking… that’s how my style came together. Bold colors, strong shapes, and just enough structure to hold it all together.

My current work, Roots & Threads, is really about where we come from and what we carry with us, family, culture, music, style, memories, all of it. There’s a lot of influence from hip-hop, everyday life, and the people and moments that stick with you.

Every piece I make is one-of-one, hand-tufted and mounted on a frame I build myself. It’s not just something to hang on a wall, it’s meant to feel like it has a presence.

About me.
