Don’t Mute DC
Acrylic Yarn
26” x 26"
July 2026

Inspired by the 2019 Don't Mute DC movement, this piece celebrates go-go music while honoring the fight to preserve DC's Black culture and identity in the face of cultural erasure and gentrification. The boombox and bold DC imagery serve as a reminder to keep the city's homegrown sound and culture loud.
